There was a rash of opinion running through the common sophomore threads. A few were riled. Others smug. Our Beloved Dictator decided to take matters in his own hands.

As we awaited his lecture for the class, he stared at each individually. As if trying to gauge our beliefs. To find out if we knew what was going to happen. I was oblivious.

Apparently, someone had plastered anarchist flyers on the sophomore class board. The leering, black and white image of Bush surrounded by an article. I personally have a copy of this flyer. I found it on my desk the day before. It came complete with a small essay on the back about how such flyers were an abomination and a declaration of just how ignorant some people were.

The short essay:

One word describes this piece of paper: ignorance. In fact, anger with the ruling government seems to be a popular fad. Make decisions based upon personal research and justifications. Don't let angry children with printers dictate your feelings or decisions. Don't let ignorance define you. Define your life. Let that affect others...

It was quite an impressive little piece. Well written and with impeccable diction. It was the small note in a different hand that set me off.

Them kids need to stop watching CNN. They are probably democrats and that makes them stupid.

It negates every point that the author of the other piece set out to make. Proving that teenagers have no political standing. That they are just drones of a rampant media. Most of which is a total lie. There are those of us out there that are closed-minded and willing to choke down whatever stories the internet or media are willing to churn out.

They aren't that rare. Just look around a classroom. Most of the students are like that. There are the rare few. The ones who know what the hell is going on. The ones who don't support the war because it's the "fashionable" thing to do.

We aren't all like that. We do have opinions. We do have thoughts. Even if most of us are socially brain-dead. Those are the ones who are perpetuating our oppression. Who are cementing the idea that we aren't of any importance.

There is no majority rule.
